BWS Pathway Program

Sleep & Recovery Restore. Repair. Renew Overnight.

For the person who sleeps but does not feel restored, wakes tired, struggles to wind down, or feels like recovery is always one step behind.

This pathway helps you rebuild the rhythms that support deep rest, overnight repair, hormone rhythm, nervous system downshift, and next-day capacity. Dr. Tory’s approach treats sleep as one of the body’s most important recovery tools, not as an afterthought.

Restore Evening rhythms that help the body prepare for rest.
Repair Sleep habits that support overnight recovery and renewal.
Renew Morning practices that help reset your daily rhythm.

“It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.”

Psalm 127:2 NKJV

Tonight I receive rest as a gift, not a reward I have to earn. I will prepare my body with wisdom, release the weight of the day, and trust that recovery is part of God’s design.

Daily Rhythm

Choose One Simple Practice

Select the time of day you need. Start small. The goal is not to force sleep. The goal is to prepare the body to receive rest.

Morning Practices
01 Morning · 10 min

Morning Light Reset

Morning light helps anchor the daily rhythm that supports evening sleep and next-day recovery.

Open Practice
  • Step outside within the first hour when possible.
  • Let natural light reach your eyes without staring at the sun.
  • Pair with slow breathing or a gentle walk.
  • Keep it simple and repeatable.
02 Morning · 10 to 20 min

Gentle Walk

A calm walk supports circulation, mood, daily rhythm, and the recovery pattern your body uses later at night.

Open Practice
  • Walk at a comfortable pace.
  • Keep it calm, not performance-based.
  • Notice breath, posture, light, and surroundings.
  • No step-count pressure. Let rhythm be the goal.
03 Morning · 5 min

Recovery Check-In

Notice how you woke up before caffeine, screens, or demands. This gives you a simple recovery awareness marker.

Open Practice
  • Rate sleep quality from 1 to 10.
  • Notice morning energy before caffeine.
  • Notice mood, soreness, and mental clarity.
  • Choose one recovery support for the day.
Midday / Anytime Practices
04 Anytime · 3 to 5 min

Diaphragmatic Evening Prep

Practice during the day so the body recognizes the breathing rhythm more easily at night.

Open Practice
  • Place one hand on your belly and one hand on your chest.
  • Inhale slowly through the nose and let the belly rise.
  • Exhale slowly and let the belly soften.
  • Let the exhale be longer than the inhale.
05 Afternoon · 5 min

Caffeine Cutoff Check

Protect the evening by noticing whether caffeine is supporting your day or borrowing from tonight’s rest.

Open Practice
  • Choose a caffeine cutoff that supports your sleep rhythm.
  • Swap afternoon caffeine for water, mineral water, or herbal tea.
  • Notice whether the evening feels easier to downshift.
  • Track the pattern for seven days.
06 Anytime · 4 min

Box Breathing Nighttime Reset

A steady breathing rhythm to practice during the day or use when your mind feels busy at night.

Open Practice
  • Inhale slowly for 4 counts.
  • Hold for 4 counts.
  • Exhale slowly for 4 counts.
  • Hold empty for 4 counts and repeat.
Evening Practices
07 Evening · 25 to 30 min

BWS Wind-Down Stretch Sequence

A gentle, faith-aligned stretch rhythm that helps the body transition from demand into recovery.

Open Practice
  • Move slowly through neck, shoulders, hips, back, and legs.
  • Use gentle stretching, mobility, and progressive release.
  • Avoid forcing range of motion.
  • Let the goal be preparation for rest, not performance.
08 Bedtime · 3 to 4 min

4-7-8 Breathing

A simple bedtime breathing rhythm that helps signal the body to downshift before sleep.

Open Practice
  • Inhale quietly through your nose for 4 counts.
  • Hold your breath for 7 counts.
  • Exhale slowly through your mouth for 8 counts.
  • Complete four cycles without forcing it.
09 Evening · 10 to 15 min

Prayer & Scripture Release

A quiet practice to release the weight of the day and receive rest as a gift instead of a reward.

Open Practice
  • Name what you are releasing tonight.
  • Read one short scripture or pray simply.
  • Choose gratitude over replaying the day.
  • Let your body receive permission to rest.
Gentle reminder: You do not need to do every practice every day. Start with the evening rhythm first, then add the morning light reset when you are ready.
